STRATOVARIUS Frontman Issues Update

STRATOVARIUS frontman Timo Kotipelto has issued the following update:

"Just to let you know (if you happen to be in Finland these days...) that I am doing a couple of cover gigs with some of my friends. The band is called MR. C. Yesterday we played at On the Rocks, Helsinki and tomorrow (Saturday, October 28th we will play at Tulisuudelma, Vantaa, Finland). There will be another gig in Helsinki (December 1st, Memphis) and one in Lahti December 8th. A good friend of mine, Kimmo Blom, will sing some songs and then I will hit the stage. The songs are classic metal covers.

"I'm doing these gigs for fun and 'coz I love those songs. Of course the timing isn't perfect since I am supposed to be in the studio but I promised to do these months ago...

"Well, today Mikko Karmila will mix one of my new songs. It's supposed to be on one new Finnish movie that will has its premiere in January 2007. The rest of the songs should be mixed in a couple of weeks.

"Well, I still need to record some more vocals... :)"

KOTIPELTO's sophomore solo album, "Coldness", was released in Europe in April 2004 through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Waiting for the Dawn" was recorded by CHILDREN OF BODOM keyboardist Janne Wirman at his Beyond Abilities Studios as well as by Tero Kostermaa at High and Loud's ELK Studios and Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, where the mixing (Mikko Karmila) and the mastering (Mika Jussila) also took place. Matthias Norén, who has previously worked with bands like INTO ETERNITY, LOST HORIZON and EVERGREY, designed the album's artwork.
